La Bibliotheca Alexandrina<\/a> est \u00e0 la fois une biblioth\u00e8que et un centre culturel. Les travaux ont d\u00e9but\u00e9 en 1995 et co\u00fbt\u00e9 220 millions de dollars. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 inaugur\u00e9e en 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Elle dispose alors de la plus grande salle de lecture au monde, occupant, sur 20 000 m\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s, sept des onze \u00e9tages du b\u00e2timent principal (dont quatre sous le niveau de la mer), offrant 2 000 places assises, 180 salles d\u2019\u00e9tude et doit h\u00e9berger \u00e0 terme huit millions d\u2019ouvrages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
