Il faut pour cela un compagnon non seulement attentif mais attentionn\u00e9. Kenny Barron remplit \u00e0 merveille cette fonction et m\u00eame plus. Sensible, vif, pertinent, il appartient \u00e0 la lign\u00e9e prestigieuse de \u00ab\u202fsolistes\u202f\u00bb et \u00ab\u202faccompagnateurs\u202f\u00bb.<br>Stan Getz adorait ce pianiste et lui a laiss\u00e9 une libert\u00e9 d\u2019expression totale. D\u2019\u00e9vidence, il souhaitait que s\u2019\u00e9panouisse la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 d\u2019un grand pianiste et que la sienne propre saisisse l\u2019occasion de prendre appui sur ce formidable tremplin et de se laisser porter par lui. Dans cet esprit, Stan Getz a insist\u00e9 pour que les deux musiciens soient cr\u00e9dit\u00e9s \u00ab\u202f\u00e0 \u00e9galit\u00e9\u202f\u00bb\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La magie de l\u2019enregistrement r\u00e9side dans un placement parfait des micros par les ing\u00e9nieurs du son de la radio danoise.<br>On distingue le souffle de Stan et celui du l\u00e9ger de l\u2019impact des clefs lorsqu\u2019elles ferment un trou du sax\u202f: on y est\u202f!<br>Son surnom \u00ab\u202fThe Sound\u202f\u00bb est d\u2019autant plus vrai alors \u00e0 la fin de sa vie, son souffle n\u2019\u00e9tant plus suffisant, on sent parfaitement qu\u2019il joue avec son \u00e2me et son c\u0153ur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quatre soir\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9es, repr\u00e9sentant sept sets, car Stan Getz n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure d\u2019assurer le second set de la derni\u00e8re soir\u00e9e (6\u00a0mars 1991). Logiquement, la plupart des morceaux figurent en plusieurs versions\u2026 et c\u2019est passionnant. On assiste au cheminement de la cr\u00e9ation, bas\u00e9e \u00e9videmment sur un solide socle d\u2019improvisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mon morceau pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 est <em><strong>First Song<\/strong><\/em>, \u00e9crit par Charlie Haden pour son \u00e9pouse Ruth. Les musiciens en livrent trois versions.
